The Leaving Cert Agricultural Science Paper in marked out of 400 marks.
The written exam is worth 300 marks.
The Practical is worth 100 marks.
In the written exam, question one is worth 60 marks and all other questions are worth 48 marks.
Candidates answer six question altogether.
The 100 marks for the practical component is made up of a project and and practical examination under a number of headings.
These heading include the following:
Identification of plant and animal types associated with agriculture
20 marks
Experience of crops, livestock, House/farmyard layout
35 marks
Investigation- ecology, soil science, Animal Physiology, Plant Physiology, Genetics,Microbiology
45 marks
