• The Leaving Cert Agricultural Science Paper in marked out of 400 marks.
• The written exam is worth 300 marks.
• The Practical is worth 100 marks.
• In the written exam, question one is worth 60 marks and all other questions are worth 48 marks.
• Candidates answer six question altogether.
• The 100 marks for the practical component is made up of a project and and practical examination under a number of headings.
• These heading include the following:

  Identification of plant and animal types associated with agriculture	20 marks
  Experience of crops, livestock, House/farmyard layout	35 marks
  Investigation- ecology, soil science, Animal Physiology, Plant Physiology, Genetics,Microbiology	45 marks
