Supporting Students with Additional Educational Needs
at Our Lady’s Secondary School

At Our Lady’s Secondary School, we are committed to providing a caring, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where all students are challenged and encouraged to reach their full potential. Our core Additional Educational Needs (AEN) team works collaboratively to deliver high-quality support, ensuring that students with additional educational needs receive the guidance and resources necessary to thrive.
Our approach is rooted in the NEPS Continuum of Support framework, which acknowledges that students may require different levels of intervention depending on their individual needs. We tailor our supports accordingly, offering targeted assistance to those who need it while promoting independence and confidence in all learners. Recognising the importance of a holistic support network, we work closely with parents, guardians, external agencies, and the wider community to ensure a coordinated approach to student support provision and learning.
Our AEN provision is aligned with the Quality Framework for Post-Primary Schools (LAOS 2022) and reflects best practices in inclusive education, ensuring that each learner is supported in a safe and structured environment.
At Our Lady’s, we believe in empowering every student providing the skills, support, and encouragement they need to grow into confident individuals who can meet the challenges of an ever-changing world.
-Guided by our mercy ethos we take great inspiration from the vision of Catherine McAuley as we are committed to the full development and achievement of each student’s potential, particularly those who are disadvantaged or marginalised, in an atmosphere of care, respect, and joy-
