Bloody Sunday Commemorations

A candle was lit today in Our Lady’s to commemorate 100 years since Bloody Sunday.

Present at the event was Cathal Ryan (Loughmore) a 3rd year student whose great granduncle Jim Ryan from Loughmore, played for Tipperary on that fateful day. Bill Ryan another team player from Castleiney, was great grandfather to Michael and Bill O’Connell, (Loughmore) past students of Our Lady’s.

Also in the photograph are Ciaran McCormack, 6th yr from Loughmore who is on the Tipperary minor hurling team.

Ms Martina Butler-Young (History teacher) Mr Alan Hogan (History teacher) and Mr Noel Fogarty (History Teacher).
